Old Manali is approximately 3 km away from Manali town across Manalsu Nala. This is virtually unspoiled Himalayan village makes visitors wonder with surprise. Famous for temple of sage MANU this place has developed its identity into multi cultural hub entertaining  both domestic & western tourists with finest of ethnic products.


During peak of tourist season ethnicity and tourism untie together to offer cultural extravaganza. Plenty of Israeli dishes and music which range from techno to soothing instrumentals play here amidst sweet incense of mediation fragrance sticks.  Old Manali bears an outlook of cross cultural fusion


Tibetan Kitchen, German Baker are the few famous names where one can have reasonably priced cakes, breads, real coffee, & trekkers supplies. Shiva Garden Café is 100m  further uphill. There are plenty of good choices for western favorites.


The last few years have seen continuing building work in the lower reaches of the valley. Higher up, newer guest houses mingle with attractive old farmstead with wooden balconies and thick stone tiled roofs. The little bazaar gets  a frivolous look with the arrival of tourists specially westerners. Crystal bargains, embroidery over the T-shirts with SHIVA SHAKTI prints convey a sense of belonging towards Indian mythology.  


The old Manali has few options for Bike enthusiasts. One can hire a Royal Enfield Bike or popularly known as BULLET is easily available for a rent of 400-500 Rs/day.

With growing number of guest houses old Manali has plenty of staying options at reasonable price. Cyber Cafe's   adventure  & trekking organizations have been operating here since long.
